A Time to Remember

Special Display marking a year to the October 7 attack

  • Date iconSeptember 1 2024

On Simhat Torah, the 7th of October 2023, our world was turned upside down. To mark one year of mourning the victims of the massacre and the fallen soldiers, and to express our fervent prayer for the return of all the hostages, we have installed in our galleries several works that resonate with this theme: the Mourning Necklace and candlesticks “In Memory of the Destruction of the Temple” in the Simhat Torah display, the Redemption of Captives charity box alongside contemporary items expressing solidarity with the hostages in the synagogue from Suriname, and the video work Mizrah together with Remembrance pins in the display devoted to Tish’ah be-Av.

Among the participating artists: Shaul Cohen, Anat Golan, Ken Goldman, Einat Leader, and Zelig Segal.
