  • Curator(s): Nirit Sharon-Debel
  • Iron-wire sculptures
  • : Alexander Calder
American artist Alexander Calder (1898-1976) was fascinated with the circus. He created a miniature circus - iron-wire sculptures with which he would perform, and which evolved into his renowned sculptural mobiles - and frequently depicted scenes from the circus world. Prints based on his drawings capturing its spectacular atmosphere will be presented here. They will be joined by prints by Picasso and Toulouse-Lautrec, as well as by Aviva Uri's drawings on the same subject. All of the works on display are from the Museum's collection of Prints and Drawings.
