Lady Alice Oliphant, painter and photographer, came to Palestine with her husband, Sir Laurence Oliphant, in 1882. They lived in Haifa and Daliat el Carmel, where they were joined by friends and artists who came to witness the places described in the Bible. In their watercolors and photographs, a samlple of which is presented in this exhibition, they recorded the views, landscapes, and inhabitants of the Holy Land.
